Image 2
I have decided to use this as a small image on my front page. I have decided to use this image as it shows a concert in action. It gives the idea that "Encore" magazine, have exclusive information about this gig, and make the readers want to find out more about it. The big crowd shown, shows the popularity of the band playing, therefore the fact that "Encore" have access to this, makes the magazine appear more popular.

I have chosen to use this photo for the front page of my music magazine. The image shows alot of red, which i will use as a device to draw the attention of the reader. The idea of the two models playing guitar hero gives the image a sense of light-hearted humour, which will relate to teens as they tend to prefer things that are less serious. It also creates a connection between the models and the readers. The fact that they play such a common game, that is so popular among teenagers today shows the reader that the members of this band are just like normal people. This differentiates my magazine from the stereotypically glamorous images seen mostly in pop or hip-hop magazines, where the readers aspire to be the model, but feel as though this is impossible. With my main image, the readers will feel like they can relate to band members, and realise that they are normal people just like them, and even participate in the same activities, such as playing games like guitar hero. The way in which my models are positioned conforms to the theme of rock that i want to be present in my magazine. It is clear that they are playing the guitars, and seem to be enjoying it, which is what i want to show to my readers. I plan to use the magnetic lassoe tool to cut out this image and place it on a purple background, as the colour scheme my target audience said they would prefer was black, white and purple.
